Dr. Helen deMan

Dr. Helen deMan graduated with honours from the University of Toronto Dental School in 1990. She was awarded the 3M Restorative Award for cosmetic dentistry. Her passion is creating beautiful smiles. In addition to practicing with her husband Dr. Harry Höediono, she was an associate clinical professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto.

In 2014 Dr. deMan was inducted into the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy for her excellent work and many contributions to dentistry.

Recently, Dr. deMan was honoured by her peers by being made a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

Dr Höediono at de Man & Höediono Dentistry

Dr. Harry Höediono

Dr. Harry Höediono is a 1990 graduate of the University Of Toronto School Of Dentistry. He is a Moss Star Scholar and was awarded the Keith Box Silver Medal in Periodontal surgery.

He is past Chair of the Board of Directors of Grand River Hospital, Past President of the Ontario Dental Association, and has sat on numerous ODA committees, including the award-winning Oral Health Strategy Advisory Committee. As part of the ODA's Student Outreach Program, he is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto Dental School and also the University of Western Ontario Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. He has lectured internationally and is an ODA Media contact dentist, appearing in numerous newspapers, magazines, and radio/television interviews on various current dental topics.

He is also a staff contact dentist for St. Mary's hospital and also the founder and President of ONTRACK CES a continuing education software company. Dr. Höediono has been in general dental practice with his wife Dr. Helen de Man for 32 years and devotes much of his practice to full mouth rehabilitation and complex occlusions. He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, The Pierre Fauchard Academy, and in 2008 was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.

Dr Schenkel a kitchener dentist

Dr. Mike Schenkel

Dr. Mike Schenkel is a passionate and dedicated professional and is known for his warm personality and excellent clinical care. Dr. Schenkel earned his Doctorate of Dentistry from Griffith University, Australia. He also holds a BSc and an MSc in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of Guelph. He has published several research papers and has been awarded grants from Colgate and the Australian Research Foundation for his work in therapeutic dental sciences.

Dr. Schenkel works with several volunteer groups both locally and abroad including the Nepalese dental outreach program Around Good People which brings primary care to areas with no access to treatment, many of whom are kids of remote villages.

In his free time, Dr. Schenkel enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife Dr. Caley Höediono and is an avid golfer, climber, and surfer.

Dr Motomura at de Man & Höediono Dentistry

Dr. Kelsey Motomura

Dr. Kelsey Motomura was born and raised in Cambridge. She studied Bio-Medical Science at the University of Guelph and was then accepted to the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Toronto.

During her four years in dental school, Dr. Motomura served as Class Vice-President. She was actively involved in the Peer Mentorship and Restorative Mentorship programs, as well as the Dental Students Society. Dr. Motomura graduated on the Dean's List. She was the recipient of the J.G. Bourassa Cup from the Faculty of Dentistry for her academic standing and extra-curricular involvement. She also received the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award from the University of Toronto in her graduating year.

Dr. Motomura has participated in Dental and Medical Outreach opportunities both globally and locally. She has volunteered on missions to Guatemala and Honduras, as well as with Health Mission Outreach in Brampton.

Outside of work, Dr. Motomura enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, hiking, baking and playing board games.

Dr. Kelsey Motomura is excited to join Dr. deMan & Dr. Höediono's practice! She is a friendly compassionate dentist who is committed to providing quality comprehensive dental care for her patients. She especially enjoys working with children.



Dr Caley Höediono at de Man & Höediono Dentistry

Dr. Caley Höediono

Dr. Caley Höediono grew up in the Waterloo region and completed an undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph in Biological Science. She was accepted and went on to graduate from the Griffith University Dental School of Australia with a Bachelor of Oral Health and Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry. She graduated with High Distinction. Dr. Caley then went on to graduate with honours from the three-year specialty graduate program in Orthodontics at the University of Manitoba. She is both Canadian and US board certified in Orthodontics. Dr Caley is also available at her own specialty practice at The Boardwalk. In her spare time, Dr. Caley likes to hike, travel, engage in water sports, such as surfing and wakeboarding, and spending time with her family.

Dr Lopez-Gross at de Man & Höediono

Dr. Jacqueline Lopez-Gross

Dr. Jacqueline Lopez Gross received her M.Sc. in Endodontics from the University of Toronto. Prior to her specialty training, she spent a year at New York University as a resident in the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Endodontics. Among her accolades, she received the award for “Best Oral Research Presentation” at the American Association of Endodontics Annual meeting in 2018 and her research in neuroscience received awards from the International College of Prosthodontics and IFEA in 2019.

Dr. Lopez Gross is a lecturer in the Graduate Endodontics Program at University of Toronto and is an Adjunct Clinical Faculty at University of Western Ontario.

Monica - Office Manager

Monica came to our Kitchener dental office in February of 1996. She loves finding ways to make people smile including building in them the confidence to share their own smile.

Monica states, “I am happy to answer any questions patients may have or help resolve concerns to make everyone's visit a positive one. I love the energy of our team. Our primary goal is to help our patients!”

Nicole

We welcomed Nicole as a dental receptionist In June of 2017. She is pleased to be a part of such a professional, talented and genuinely caring dental practice. Patient satisfaction is her goal in the office, she wants to see everyone leave with a smile on their face.

In her spare time Nicole can be found at the baseball diamond in the summer and hockey arena In the winter cheering on her youngest son. She also enjoys camping, fishing and lounging by the campfire with her family on her weekends off.

Sara started with us in August of 2017 and has been a great addition to our team.

When Sara is not working, she enjoys her spare time doing Zumba fitness classes, going to Toronto Blue Jay games, traveling when she can and spending time with her family and friends.

Vanessa came to us in August of 2014. We are humbled by what she has to say about working at our office:

“It is my honour and privilege to serve these remarkable dentists in their purpose of providing the highest standard of care to each of their patients. I most look forward to doing the custom staining of the CEREC crowns to personalize each tooth for a perfect, yet natural look. I enjoy alleviating patient concerns and anxiety around seemingly stressful procedures, especially root canals. It's so rewarding to see each patient leave smiling!” In her spare time she enjoys cooking vegan cuisine, star gazing, bird watching, gardening, and playing with her kitties Lara and Lady.

Miriah graduated from Medix college in June 2016 after doing her school placement with us, she started with our team right away. She takes great pride in her work and she sees to it that the patient is the centre of our care.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time using her imagination to craft or renew anything that she sees fit. Not only does she like to craft, she also loves cooking and baking whatever comes to mind.

Heather started with us in September 2016. Heather is enthusiastic about dental health and enjoys educating patients about personal dental care, hygiene, and preventative techniques. She is focused on providing exceptional patient care and performs the office's in house whitening when not assisting Dr. De Man.

When not in the office, she loves nothing more than horseback riding and spending time with her family and pets

It's a privilege to work at Dr. deMan and Höediono Dentistry. I believe putting the patient first will make everyone happy at the end of the day. It brings me great joy to work with professional caring people. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and my two dogs.



Emilie

Emilie graduated from Westervelt College in 2019 and also completed a course at University of Toronto assisting IV and oral sedation patients. Emilie did her placement with us in August 2019 and joined our team right away. She has been passionate about dentistry from a young age and believes every patient deserves the best dental care and services. Emilie is currently learning to translate dentistry in French.

Emilie enjoys spending time with her friends and family and her dog Ziggy! In her spare time Emilie likes to listen to music and be active. In the winter time she coaches and plays Ringette.

Aya

Aya graduated from Westervelt College in 2019 and completed a course at University of Toronto assisting IV and Oral sedation patients.

She was born and raised in Japan and had worked as a dental assistant. 

One of her favorite parts of dentistry is seeing beautiful results and seeing patients leaving the office with a beautiful smile, and she is honored to be involved in the process.

She has a passion for the dentistry field, and is very enthusiastic about continuing her education. 

Outside of dentistry she loves to do yoga, talk to her family and friends back home and play the ukulele.

Cara has worked for de Man & Höediono Dentistry twice. Once in 2004-2005 and returned 7 years later in April of 2012.

Cara's passion lies not only in improving ones oral health but in helping patients achieve a better overall health and well-being….a huge part of this is done through her focus on patient education.

In her time away from work Cara spends time with volleyball, yoga, her kids, teeth (continuing education), watching any sport live, …and more with her kids!

Cheryl arrived at de Man & Höediono Dentistry in May of 2008. She loves helping people benefit from keeping their teeth healthy for a lifetime.

In her spare time she Enjoys bicycling, travel, gardening, yoga and pilates and taking long walks with her husband.

Brittany graduated with honours from the dental hygiene program at Southern Ontario Dental College. Before that she worked as a Dental Assistant for 5 years.

She Is passionate in her role as Dental Hygienist and enjoys working in patient care and education.

With over 20 years' experience as a dental hygienist in both general and orthodontic practice, Jennifer enjoys using her expertise and sense of humour to give her patients their best smile.
